Our History
We are a small, but GREAT CHURCH!
Our story is one of trusting God and rebuilding.
Our small congregation of less than 15 in 2021 began to seek God for a pastor and fresh start in spring. God answered this fervent prayer on June 6, 2021 with new pastors and a new beginning!
That new beginning saw many needed building renovations accomplished- a feat far beyond what our small church to accomplish on our own. But God answered !
With connections that our pastors sought from across our PennDel District, Sectional Presbytery, and beyond – renovations began!
In the past 3 ½ years, with 10+ regional mission’s teams willing to help, along with diligent, hard work from our small congregation, we were able to accomplish far beyond what was humanly possible on our own!
At the same time that active renovations were ongoing, church ministry continued and we grew to 60+ GREAT people with a big mindset! Almost every person- young and older alike- serve in some capacity- as we strive to model what Jesus said the gospel of Matthew:
(Matthew 20: 26-28 NIV- 26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.)
In addition to ongoing ministry at our church, we are passionate about reaching our neighbors for Christ and have done many outreaches to bless them in tangible ways and have seen some fruit from our labors!
We continue to trust God as we move forward to accomplish all that He has for us at The River!
